The RMS-5 features IP68 construction for submersible rotary applications. The RMS-5 is also suitable for outdoor applications where dust and moisture protection is required. The design takes advantage of a single preloaded crossed roller bearing for the table movement. This design approach eliminates the use of a dual bearing configuration thus improving on axial runout and wobble. This submersible rotary stage utilizes a worm gear drive with a gear ratios of 72:1 and 36:1. The worm gear is preload to minimize the backlash in the gear train.
The RMS-5 comes standard with integrated optical home switch, size 23 stepper motor, and 10 foot long motor and signal cables. An optional rotary encoder is available for the stepper motor. For high speed applications the RMS-5 Underwater Rotary Table is available with a size 23 brushless servo motor.
