The RT-3 has a low profile coming in at just over 2″ thick. This rotary stage is to interface with a Nema 17 motor which can be factory installed or installed by the customer. The RT-3 utilizes a worm gear drive with a gear ratio of 90:1. The worm gear is preload to minimize the backlash in the gear train.

The MDrive motor is a NEMA size 17 high torque 1.8° stepper motor integrated with an advanced, high resolution microstepping driver and a full featured programmable motion controller. With the MDrive motor there is no need for an external motion controller.
